WHOS-IN Pro - Admin Help

Check for Update:

The Auto Check for Update menu item will attempt to contact our web site www.hudsoft.com to determine if a later version of WHOS-IN Pro is available. You can also optionally set the AUTO CHECK FOR UPDATE option (on by default). If this option is selected, the Admin program will check the web site as soon as it is run.   This is now also available as an option in the Global Settings area for USERS with HIGH access level (normally receptionists & WHOS-IN Administrators).

 

NOTE: No information is SENT to the web server. The check merely looks for a text file on our server containing the version number of the current release, and then compares that to the version you are currently running.

If no update is needed, the following dialog box will appear:

If a later version is found, the following dialog box will appear (with the version number found in the Title Bar):

Select YES, and Internet Explorer will be launched and directed to our web site where you may download the latest version. We intend to modify this so that the 'default' browser is launched instead of IE (but we haven't figured out how as yet - sorry).
